Tubular control arms for static drop

Hey guys newly accepted member here with a question.

I have a 65 short wide, and am doing a drum to disc conversion. As I budget for parts I question are tubular control arms something to defiantly go with or should I stick w/ stock A-arms and put money into something else???

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated

Depends on a few things like if you using drop spindles or just lowering springs and wheel size too.

I'll be running a 20" wheel w/ 2.5 drop spindles and one inch drop springs

Also depends if you plan on rebuilding the enire front end.
Balljoints and a-arm cross shafts and bushings will up the cost of rebuilding your stock arms.
(making new tubular arms look like a better deal)
I would rebuild the stock arms unless you have extra money in your budget.

Porterbuilt has his new "Forward Series" a-arms that help center the front wheels in the fender opening after you drop it.
This is my only choice for a-arms when using the stock crossmember.
No other company does this, besides Hotchkis.
And they are more expensive.

lolife has a point about the price of rebuilding everything vs new control arms.

lolife, if you dont mind me asking, Why would you use porterbuilt a arms with a stock crossmember and not any other brand? Do the other other brands of tubular arms not work with the stock crossmember? The only reason Im asking is becuase im looking for some tubular a arms and I will be using a stock crossmember, 2.5 drop spindles, and 2" Drop springs. Am I better off with stock a arms or getting some tubular a arms? Im kind of on a budget so if I could put my money elsewhere in the truck I will.

If you are on a budget,... use stock arms.
If you have to spend $1000+ on a-arms,... use Porterbuilt.
They are the C10 suspension specialist in my opinion.
They have a ton of a-arm options to choose from.
1) longer arms, narrower arms, bag arms, coil spring arms,... along with the forward series arms
2) they also offer C20 and C30 a-arms.

I like the forward series, because it centers the front wheels in the wheel opening.
I consider Porterbuilt,... the best in the business.

I would buy off Porterbuilt just because of their customer service is amazing.You can search post on here sometimes we all make mistakes but they take care of any problem fast and nice.What i like most about them is they only deal with gm trucks 60-87 and everything they make is always being improved not like some companies design a part and make it same for years.They are a family ran American company nothing made over seas.
