powerglide to th350
Will be swapping out old powerglide for 72 th350 next weekend. Its 9inch tail th350 and everything should bolt up fine, but I am concerned about shifter linkage between Pg and th350. Will they swap over or will I have to by one of them lokar kits?

Re: powerglide to th350
The detents for the gears are in the tranny not the linkage. You will need to replace your shift map for it to match but the linkage will work. I am of course assuming column shift, some early floor shifters (in cars) have detents built into them.

Re: powerglide to th350
I wasn't even aware they still made glides in 84, the cooler lines should be the same. In preparation for the swap I would just go under it and make sure they hook into the same place. If they are quick connects then you would need to use the tranny fitting off of the glide. I would also have the 72 lines handy incase my info in incorrect you can swap them at the last minute, but I am 99% sure I'm right.

Get the throttle / kick down cable bracket as well. Other wise a bolt in deal.

Re: powerglide to th350
Definitely didn't have a powerglide stock in there in 1984.
They were already updating the 3 speeds to the new 700R4 by then. Think the powerglide was already out by 1970 or so and replaced by the turbo 350.

Re: powerglide to th350
Its a 67 powerglide. It was in a truck when I bought it and mated to tired old 305. I just swapped crate 350 in it and going with th350 9" tail for simplicity and lack of wires and sensors.
Do you guys thinks linkage and cooler lines will work? |

Re: powerglide to th350
It already has that bracket on it, with only throttle cable attached(with powerglide in it). I assume it had th350 in it at some point.
Thanx for all of your input again. P.S now just hope my driveshaft fits lol |
