Driver's side floor board help

I am redoing the floor boards in my 65 Stepside. The driver's side is mostly gone by the firewall. See picture below.

My question/request is that there appears to be an indentation in the floor about where the gas peddle bottom would sit. Is there an indentation there? A picture of a good driver's side floorboard would help a lot.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Driver's side floor board help

Thought I would highlight the area on my question/request. What I am pointing at is an area that appears to be a pocket on the driver's side floorboard. Not sure if its suppose to be there or the PO did another goofy thing............

Re: Driver's side floor board help

I am also currently working on the floor of my truck ('64 C10) so I took some pictures for you. The first shows the original floor with the two posts for the gas pedal. I haven't investigated how they are attached yet. The second is a picture of that area of the patch panel I am using for the repair. I hope this helps.

Re: Driver's side floor board help

I don't know if this is what you want to do but...
On my floor board, I used a gas pedal section/area from a good donor (just this area was good!) I cut it out of the donor and then cut out the same area on my cab. Welded in the donor pedal area to get every thing back to normal...
Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies and the pictures. Was starting to think there was nothing in that area since no one had responded. Being in northern Illinois there are not many, if any, good donor trucks around.

Where did you buy that patch panel? I haven't seen anything for the inner floor boards and had to create my own on the passengers side. Figured I would have to do the same on this side but that gas pedal spot would be a pain to replicate.

Re: Driver's side floor board help

You can get most of the panels from LMC, Classic Parts etc. I replaced my gas pedal studs in my truck with a reproduction set, just for looks and the threaded section was a smaller diameter. I ended up welding the new ones in place, just FYI.

Hope I am not being dumb here, I bought my floor replacement panels from Classic Parts and both sides stop at the channel in the floor board and do not have anything that gets even close the the hump. The panel in your picture looks to go from the channel to the hump. Am I missing something?

Re: Driver's side floor board help

The patch panel in my picture is part 45-931 from classicparts.com.

Over the weekend I got under the truck to see what's on the back side. There is a bar that looks like it has two threaded holes. It looks like the studs for the gas pedal are screwed into this support bar.
