I dont know for sure but K10's have a slight lift compared to a C10. You may want to check the pinion angle when you get it installed.

Re: 6 lug rear in 1/2 ton?
I've done the swap the other way. I had a 4wd truck with a bad rear so I put a 2wd rear into it. In my case, I swapped the axle shafts to retain the 6 lug pattern in the truck, but the axles swapped right in and the entire rear end itself bolted in.

Re: 6 lug rear in 1/2 ton?
ok, i have an 1984c10 2wd shortbed stepside.it has the original 3.07 10 bolt single traction rear end. i bought an 1984 k10 rear diff that is 373 posi. my reserch shows axle length to be different. k10-6lug c10-5lug.this dos~nt bother me right now. i can run 6lug ralleys on rear and 5lug ralleys on front. my concerns are installing 4x4x rear into my2wd frame and springs and pin angles ect. thanks guys for any info.

Re: 6 lug rear in 1/2 ton?
They should be the same,I swapped a rear axle from a 79 2wd to a 80 4wd. Spring perches were the same. Also swapped a rear axle from a 87 K15 to a 83 C10. Same thing, perches lined up,can't remember if I changed out the yoke or not....

Shock mount brackets are a little different too.
