That looks great!! The only change I may have to make is the center vent. I want to put a touchscreen/navigation in the radio/vent area. I could put a center vent to the right of the touchscreen/navigation.

This is pics of what I may do for my AC/Navigation unit. A square vent in the center to the right of the NAV unit and round vents on the right and left side.

Hey wait.... That's my dash in my truck. It's so funny to see my pictures used for mock-up's. Love the orange!

Thanks for the pics. It gives me something to work with to figure out how I want to configure my truck with navigation, dual tanks, etc.

Re: Vintage A/C dash

I've never tried it, but the pontiac balls (ames performance part number A274T) look to be the same as the ones in our trucks (for '66 GTO) or at least fit. Here's a pic:

Re: Vintage A/C dash

I lost my vent balls and the middle vent as well. Having a heck of a time finding replacements. Since no one seems to sell these as reproductions. I was thinking about setting up a 3D printer and printing these out. If I could get the material close enough and find someone that would let me scan their current ones. It might work.

Re: Vintage A/C dash

They have the felt strips that put the pressure on them to keep them from moving too. I may pick up a set even though i cleaned mine and painted light silver, but not any time soon.

VERY VERY Clean and well done! So I started collecting all the parts to do this in my truck a few years back. Good to know about the piece behind the middle vent to connect the hose too. I was wondering about that.

im actully working with a company to remanufacture these. it can be done but is going to cost alot but i think it will be worth it since they are so hard to find in pefect shape. tell me what your opinions are about a reproduction part.

Re: Vintage A/C dash

I want to incorporate air into the build I am doing w/ a '64 short step. I am building it to be my "Valley of the Sun" cruiser so I need air. I would love to use reproduction vents that I could cut out the original dash area of a non-AC truck and weld back in the new original looking air section into the dash.

this post right here is what inspired me to build side vents for our dashboards to look like they came from the factory that way. it's been several months that I've been working on the project and they should be out in early March.
