My 63 is a pro-street. I back halfed it then found out I made a rather big mistake so I cut it all off and I am building the frame over.
I have a 440 CID dual quad motor and I am toying with changing out the TH-400 for a 4 spd auto..

My wife has a 63 Chevy short step that I have a nice Pontiac 326 4 bbl, 200-4R trans and a nice 3.42 screw in the rear.

I have 2 other trucks, a 65 and a 66. (Chevy and GMC respectively)

Re: Creative Power Plants

How much did you have to move the gas pedal back with that firewall mod? I see you're using a cable pedal as well.

I don't remember for sure without measuring ,but it seems like it was 3 inches. I went with a spoon style gas pedal, you can see the mounting bolts in the recess, the cable just made things much easier. I really don't notice the move that much.

Nah, all v6's only came naturally aspirated except the toro-flow diesel. I would love to see pics of the one with a blower though!

Some guy in central Michigan had it.. I didn't get photos but he did say it was a 66 351 V6.
It was a few years ago.

Superior fire power in that knee knocker your building..
God knows I LOVE Pontiac...
I am finishing my chassis for my 63 pro-street this week and next.
Should have it assembled before the end of the month with my Pontiac mill installed.
Working on my dual quad today....
I hope to be able to post a video of it running soon.

The truck is heavy at around 6300lbs but it gets a combined mileage of 24 regularly. Here is some then and now pics.

Re: Creative Power Plants

Dieseldude .. Got my interest... Went and weighted my truck today 6540 lb.. I would have guessed mine considerablly more, due to the 2extra wheels, Dana 70hd Rearend, and the steel flatbed.

Re: Creative Power Plants

So, what about Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Mopar or FoMoCo???????
Surely someone somewhere is creatively stuffing something really different between the frame rails of a 60-66 GMC or Chevy...
I have been thinking that a 426 Hemi would be a fun project for a 60-66

I found this guy 61hawk on the forum. He hasn't posted in years, litterally, but his attempted creation is impressive. I hope he finished it.
