using my e brake handle as a shifter

Looking for any one who's has done this and if can get the info,
Instead of connecting the 700r4 to a column or floor linkage, run a cable and mount it to the stock emergency brake handle that's mounted on the steering column. I've been told its not possible but everything is possible... I would like to know if there's any custom brakets or mounts.... Thanks in advance. If theres any pics great I'm a visual learner.

Re: using my e brake handle as a shifter

I dont know if its been done with a 700r or not but sure it can be done,I know of a couple local guys near me who have done it to th350's,and I think delmo did it in one of his trucks, look for his profile and search his threads for his builds...

It can and has been done as Delmo proved. It's not that difficult of a concept. I used to race a front engine dragster and my ratchet shifter was very similar to the e-brake handle only situation vertically since there is not much side-to-side room. It was basically a blade type handle with a ratchet mechanism...the only difference being mine had an NHRA required reverse lockout button.

Re: using my e brake handle as a shifter

I wonder if it is possible to use it as both shifter and park brake.
So when putting the tranny to park it also do the brake.
If that is possible I'm all in!

What do you think?

Possibly stack the e-brakes one on top of the other. You would just have two handles down there.
