Used drop spindles?
Anyone know if 2.5 drop spindles for a 70 c10 will fit my 71? Mines comes stock with disks and it just has the regular 15x7 steel wheels. Found these used in my area for a good deal so I'm hoping I can make em work.

70 spindles are drum brake.

Re: Used drop spindles?
It really depends on the spindle. There are no spindles currently made for drum brakes and only recently did companies do a direct swap spindle for the 63-70 models. It is possible that the truck they came from was converted to the later ball joints. I'd ask the guy if there are any identifying marks on the spindles and track down what trucks they actually will fit on.

Re: Used drop spindles?
Drop spindles can be swapped over to a drum application & use the OE size BJ's & TRE's. Some mfr's make these specifically so nothing else has to be changed other than the swap to disc brakes.
Other drop spindles which are made for different years (73-87's) can also be swapped if the correct BJ's,TRE's, & center-link are swapped as well. Even 88-98 dropped spindles can be swapped but require the BJ/TRE swap as well as the brake hardware. It ultimately depends on the spindles & what (if anything) was changed to install them on the 70 model.

Re: Used drop spindles?
The real question is how cheap can you get them and if your current ball joints and tie rod ends are worn out.

Re: Used drop spindles?
There is even a disc brake conversion that uses the oem DRUM BRAKE spindle with an add-on caliper bracket.
These use Chevelle rotors (5x4.750 bolt pattern), and Camaro calipers. More info or pictures would help decide what these "70 C10 spindles" will or will not fit.
