El camino springs to lower truck????

I was at a car show a couple of weeks ago and I was talking to a guy who had used el camino springs to lower his truck in the rear. Has anyone tried this? El camino springs are cheap at the local junk yard, so it seems like it could be a cheap option. At least until I go to airbags in the future.

Re: El camino springs to lower truck????

I saw that 63&64 Bowtie used 70 chevelle springs. It's in the static drop sticky on page 2 or 3. That may be an option as well

Re: El camino springs to lower truck????

Use proper drop springs such as those sold by ECE. You will be MUCH happier with springs that offer the correct spring rate for these trucks. El Camino, Chevelle, and Jeep springs will lower the truck merely because they cannot support the weight of the truck properly. They are too soft for C10 duty.
