90 suburban cluster

I currently have the gauge cluster with the dummie lights in my 84 c10. I would like to use the cluster from a 90 suburban, i pulled the cluster with the connector and about 6" of wire. Does anyone have a good write up on how to repin this? Can use the stock temp and oil senders for the 84? The engine/ trans combo is a 5.3/4l60e out of a 02 Tahoe.

The pinout for the 90 burb cluster is:

Pin # - Function - Wire Color

1 - High Beam Indicator - Light Green/No Stripe
2 - Ground - Black
3 - Oil Pressure Gauge From Sender - Light Brown/No Stripe
4 - 12 Volt + Keyed From Ignition - Pink/Black Stripe
5 - Low Voltage Warning Lamp - Dark Brown/No Stripe
6 - Not Used
7 - Not Used
8 - Coolant Temperature Gauge From Sender - Turquoise/No Stripe
9 - 12 Volt + Controlled By Headlight Switch - Light Gray/No Stripe
10 - Left Turn Signal Indicator - Light Blue/No Stripe
11 - Right Turn Signal Indicator - Dark Blue/No Stripe
12 - 4x4 Indicator Lamp - Separate wire from 18 Pin Connector
13 - Seat Belt Warning Lamp - Yellow/No Stripe
14 - Fuel Gauge From Sender - Pink/No Stripe
15 - Park Brake/Unequal Pressure Warning Lamp - Light Brown/White Stripe
16 - SES (Service Engine Soon) Lamp - Dark Brown/White Stripe

Temp senders are different between '84 and '90. The '84 is 1/2 pipe thread and the '90 is 3/8 pipe thread.

Oil pressure senders are electrically different and don't interchange.

So I need to Repin my connector to match the one the suburban? Can I use senders that match the 90 cluster?

Yes and yes. Use a small flat tool to remove the pins from the plug, being careful not to damage the locing tabs (There is a specific tool, but sometimes a paper clip *may* also work). Move your wires as needed. I usually bend the lock tab up again just to make sure they will stay seated in the plug. You will need to run a wire from the PCM to the VSS input at the cluster. Seems like the PCM out is white.

Use the senders for the '90 cluster.

i have the same gauge cluster out of a suburban with the electric speedo running a 5.3 4l60e in my 86 c10 im running a psiconversion harness guess im a little confused on wiring it up can i just change out the entire gauge cluster from the suburban and make them work from the computer

If you use the whole cluster you will need the sensors for the suburban with adapters. The only wire you use from the pcm is the speedometer.

Pin 9 on the cluster side. It should have the gray wire from the headlight switch going to it.
