Valve cover

1964 chevy I6 230. On my valve cover there is a PCV valve at the back & a cap that closes off the hole in the front. Now I see some I6's have a breathing cap in the front. Which is the correct application?
Thanks Larry

Re: Valve cover

Factory would have been a PCV valve in the rear and a twist out breather which acts as the oil cap also in the front hole.

Re: Valve cover

My 65 has a cap instead of a breather. Not sure if it is stock.

Re: Valve cover

In these archive pics, they show a breather, except for the 292 which shows a breather tube

Re: Valve cover

Heres a good pic of the factory AC delco breather/oil cap. I have since added a repop decal to complete it.
