Are 1 ton springs a direct swap to 3/4 ton axles?

Does an 87 GMC V2500 3/4 ton share the same axle as a 3500 1 ton and just have different springs? Trying to figure out if they are a direct swap. If I replace my tired springs I was thinking about going to the 1 ton. It is not a daily driver and I haul wood, mulch etc mostly.

The front will bolt in, the rear will not. The spring perches are closer together on the 1 ton. But if you move them in, then it will bolt up. Think the driveshaft needs either shortened or lengthened, can't remember.

Wait read that wrong. If your springs are 56" then they will bolt in. If not, then need to move the rear shackle hanger back, the holes are there, just need to bolt it on.
