So you have wiring for a 4.3 and an ecu for a 350...what other electronics are 4.3? is the tbi 4.3 or maf/map/temp etc?

Re: 350 engine problems
You might want to spend some time here reading the info. http://www.lt1swap.com/
I believe you may need to swap a couple wire pins around at the computer plug depending on what computer you are using. Not sure if that is your issue but there is a wealth of knowledge on that site. You could email Brendan (its his site) and he will help you. He sent me wiring schematics to help me convert from a vortec 350 to vortec 454 using a newer style computer.

Re: 350 engine problems
Are all of the sensors hooked up as they should be/ My little drive to work box with wheels is doing pretty much the same thing and I found that a wire to one of the temp sensors got broken during a trans swap when I was moving things around. All the wires and hoses are in the same spot just over the bellhousing part of the trans on that particular car. A sensor that isn't hooked up or working correctly may be the issue.

Re: 350 engine problems
Did you repin the wiring harness to match the TPI ECM? Going from a TBI wiring harness to TPI isn't a simple process.
