p0332/p0300

I am getting p0332/p0300 just about everytime i get on the motor hard. Could this be my ecm just needs a good tune. the p0332 is knock sensor 2 bank 2 and p0300 is random missfire code. I have a 6.0 with cam and headers and cold air intake. If i drive it normal i dont get codes. If i get on it they come up. The ecm has a factory tune in it now except for the normal swap stuff. Thanks for the help

Re: p0332/p0300

Sounds like it could be an issue with the misfire counter being set to tightly. If the cam is on a low LSA and is really lumpy, it can cause a problem with the misfire count and cause the ecm to do things like pull the truck out of lock up, as well as some stumbling/bogging on decel etc. A tuner should be able to make some small adjustments and iron it out...I had a similar problem last summer.

Cam specs are in my sig. It also hesitates when I make large fast Throttle changes. Like punching it off a stop. Some times it pops then takes off.

how is it tuned? just a stock tune w/VATS disabled? if so...I'd say you need an update.

Ya it is a factory tune with vats and emissions crap removed. I have found a place to get a tune so in a few weeks I should have the money for the tune. Then I will know for sure. I have read that a miss can cause the knock sensor codes.

Re: p0332/p0300

Based on that cam, you should DEF be running a modified tune, your probably falling flat in a number of areas on a stock tune with that came and long tubes. The computer would be working overtime to keep it happy.

The misfire detection in the pcm can be "desensetized" a little, allowing for a higher rate of misfire before triggering the actual pcm code (aka the flashing CEL you'd get on a normal car). There are a couple things he can do; but do NOT let him just switch misfire detection off. Guys will double the temp values to weed out the false misfires, in some cases with big cams guys will max out the value (32000) in all the cells and it prevents the codes, while technically leaving misfire count active.

Re: p0332/p0300

It runs ok but for sure is flat in lots of areas. Seems like anything over 1/8 throttle is lacking. Talked to the tuner and he thinks I am way lean and pretty much told me to baby it to him. Next weekend or so I should be able to get it there.
