Lower grill and fender support.
Hey guys. I'm trying to figure out how the bottom of the grill and the lower edge of the front of the fenders with all the holes get supported on my 51.
Getting a bunch of sound from the front. I can wiggle it by hand. I can just imagine how much it moves while driving on my crappy roads. Here are a couple of shots of the areas I'm asking about. Sorry for the crappy pics. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by Coconut-kid; 04-21-2013 at 05:38 PM. |

Re: Lower grill and fender support.
I forgot to mention that all 3 of the vertical brace for the grill are just floating in the air.

Re: Lower grill and fender support.
Hope this one helps a little more. across the bottom of the grill are three tabs like the one on the left top side of the pic and the holes you see on the front edge of the fenders.

Re: Lower grill and fender support.
It looks like you are missing the piece of sheet metal that fills in that whole bottom area that bolts across the grill, those three verticle supports, and those three bolt holes in the fender skirts, and ties it all together. Sorry, I don't have any pics of that piece. mike

Re: Lower grill and fender support.
Ok i think this is what you're missing,, the first picture show it all bolted up before i took it all a part, the 2nd shows it laying on the ground the big piece in the middle, and the last one shows it bolted up to the inner fenders before the grill is installed.. did this help you?

Re: Lower grill and fender support.
Looked all around but can't seem to find the two long support rods.
Anyone know where to get those? Thanks. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Lower grill and fender support.
Not sure if anyone remakes them, but you could make a set easy.. just get some steel rod and weld a washer on the end that bolts up top and bottom.. maybe someone on here who has a set that they can get to can tell you how long they need to be and 3/8 or 5/16 rod would work fine..
