So I lost my starter bolts, can anybody help?

Yep, I'm that guy. Anybody know the size of the stock bolts?

You can buy new starter bolts at the parts store. They are special bolts and I wouldn't use just any bolt. I have seen them in the "help" section.

Yep, advance auto has a ton. But they are a million different lengths and sizes. Lol

Measure the starter at the positions the bolts go through. The bolts should keep the shouldered area within the starter and only threads extending into the block.

Pretty sure it's 3/8-16 but not sure on the overall length.

Thats not exactly correct. The hole in the block is un-theraded for the first 1/4" or so and the bolt has a shoulder that fits into the block. Thats why you can't use just any bolt.
The shoulder keeps the starter in alignment

You are right. I forgot the shouldered part is used to align the starter .

Had an extra starter bolt right here, its got a 4 5/8" shank length.

Awesome! Thanks for the measurement bigwheel! Going to give the garage another once over to be sure since they are so dang expensive. Thanks for all of the feedback guys.
