Thanks guys, hopefully I can get it all buttoned up next weekend. Sucks not having my truck at my house, I can't just go out and tinker on it whenever I want. I have to wait until the weekend to do anything.

You and I are in the same boat in that regard. I live in a neighborhood with an HOA, and the covenants require that any outbuildings be constructed with the same architecture and materials as the house. So, I could sell all my projects and have an empty shop, or have projects somewhere else. I really need to get it done somehow. Mulling over what to do all week does get frustrating.

Yeah every time I make the trip to my brothers to work on my truck I tell my wife I need a garage. It waste so much time driving back and forth that I could be spending on my truck, plus I would be able to work on it a little here a little there during the week.

My solution would be to just get the rest of the extreme drop memeber parts

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB

All I have to say is "Holy Cow", the build is coming along great. Mind you that it took me 4 days to read through your build, interesting to say the least. All you needed was a camera following you around, and this could be some good stuff for reality T.V.

On a serious note, I hope and pray your father comes to a full recovery very soon. Nothing like a father and son bonding time, especially with the vision this build is going. I honestly have to say that everytime I came across you changing your mind, it was quite comical, but the decisions have taken your build to another level. Keep up the great work, and best wishes on the house hunt. Look forward to seeing more progress. If I read all 42 pages, I might as well stay for the duration.

Thanks Rick, I'm glad I could provide comic relief in all seriousness though I wish I could delete a good 20-25 pages from this build thread cause I come off looking like an idiot with all the changes and back and forth choices I have made. Heck I even considered deleting the thread all together and starting over. My problem is that as my budget for this truck got bigger I changed things to what I really wanted like the motor and suspension. Granted I changed the suspension 3 times but I now have what I wanted from the beginning but couldnt afford when i started. I'm never out any money either as I just sell on the parts board what I change.

As far as the changes with the wheels, I admit I'm very hard to satisfy and I just like to many styles. If I had to do the Vintecs over again I probably wouldn't have sold them but back when I did I had a lot of stress going on in my life with my fathers illness and putting his house back together after the hurricane. I wasn't thinking clearly and just unloaded them. It was a mistake but oh well that's life. Now I'm focused on getting the truck done so my father and I can both enjoy it when he gets better. My problem is that he is unable to help me and I'm unsure when he will feel up to helping me again. I might have to farm some things out like the paint as I've never done it before. All I can say is stay tuned, who knows what I'll think to do next.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB

Don't feel bad on the undecisiveness on your project, it just goes to show that it can become that in depth when you build your own toy. I would have loved to build my own, but I just don't see myself with the time to constantly work on it. Just as you stated before, you just want to get it done and over with and be on the road enjoying it. None the less, you have made some great decisions, and the work you have put into it thus far is awesome. Keep plugging away. BTW, that rendering made me want to see the final product when it's done.

Just so everyone know that the rendering was done using the Digital Paint Booth 3D from House of Kolor.

Thanks Shawn he is doing better just not able to help me work on my truck yet and quite honestly I don't know when he will be able. It sucks because I know how much he and I both enjoyed it.

Thanks Carter I'm actually thinking about getting it for myself so I can see what it will look like in some different color variations before I make my final choice.

Looking great Keith, top notch attention to detail. I love the look of newly painted PB parts and grade 8 hardware. Super clean.

I too will pray for your Pops. My Dad and I are super close too. It sucks watching him hurt when he tries so hard to help on my builds. Honestly my two I have now will likely be the last for us.
