89 Blazer Seat

I just got a 89 Blazer. It is awesome.... I need one more seat so i can fit the entire family. I want to put a bench seat up front. Anyone done this? What vehicle would be a suitable donor? I want it to be as easy of a swap as I can.
Thanks
David

Re: 89 Blazer Seat

I currently have what adds up to a split bench in mine. the 2 front buckets from a 00 Tahoe and the center console/ jump seat from a 90's Silverado crew cab. I had to drill a couple of holes in the floor to add nuts to hold it down but, I've also seen people adapt the adjusters instead. either way not that difficult. you could probably pass with just the center console / jump seat option. mine even came with its own seat belt

Re: 89 Blazer Seat

Just built-in a pickup or Suburban seat from a square body. Use the two outer brackets from your buckets

Re: 89 Blazer Seat

01+ Silverado/Sierra 40/20/40 will give you an extra seat up front & won't make everyone get out to let someone in the back (as a bench would).

I'd do this. They are more rare (I believe) but are comfortable too. My dad had a set in his early Tahoe and they were nice.

Re: 89 Blazer Seat

I have a 1979 High Sierra Jimmy with a Custom Job, I hold up to 8 People, legally with seat belt for everyone. I cut the floor from the back of the rig over the gas tank and put in a 87 Suburban back seat, then welded the other floor into my rig. Went from a 6 Passenger to an 8. I'll get you some pictures.

Re: 89 Blazer Seat

Dallred, did you get a bench seat for your blazer? If you have the factory buckets I may have a seat that would interest you. maybe we could make some kind of trade. PM me if you are interested.
