Spindle ID help

my truck came with a different front cradle. i want to get drop spindles for it but i'm not sure what year the cradle is or what year spindles i need to get. i think it 1983 and newer, just not sure.

the part numbers on the old spindles are: 264GM10N right side and263GM4N on the left. see pics below...

thanks for any help identifying these spindles...

Re: Spindle ID help

Figure out what outer tie rod fits and you will know.
It will be 71-72 or 73-87.
Just remember 73-87 trucks had 2 different spindles.
Light Duty 1" rotor version,... and HD 1-1/4" version.
Doesn't really matter if you are buy new spindles, rotors and calipers,... they all have to match.

If they are 71-72 spindles they will be the 1-1/4" version only.

Do the a-arms have rubber cross shaft bushings or steel bushings?

Re: Spindle ID help

Looking at the dust shield, it is a '73-'87. Since you narrowed down the caliper to the '78 and earlier, it will be a '73-'78. Like Keith said, you do not have to know an exact year for ordering dropped spindles. You just need to know the basic year range and rotor thickness. In your case it is '73-'87 with the 1.25" HD rotors
