Hey guys, thanks for keeping up with my progress and for the wncouraging words. I spent 10 or so hours fitting the trim so that when it is painted, it will go much easier. I kept telling myself it will be worth it, but it sure took a lot of time to make it right. You'd think when you buy new parts, they will just bolt right on eh? Here is the latest:

How do you like the new trim,is it flimsy or close to original,and where did you buy it

I would say it is "fine." A couple of pieces did not fit (both lower rear quarters behind the tire) but when I called Brothers, they said they would try another supplier and get me some that were better. Most of my time was spent drilling my new front fenders. Overall, the pieces went together pretty well and I am happy with the quality.

Long freaking weekend, but it is ready to roll to the painter! Unfortunately, when I called them this morning to confirm, they said they were not ready for me, so it will be sitting in my garage waiting for about a week. I think that will give me time to get the inner fenders dialed in so it is not that big of a deal. I have since changed my color combination to a root beer and cream as seen in the last photo. I hope I can figure out the exact color because I really like that combination. Here is a link to the local shop that is going to squirt it, if anyone cares.

That is really cool that you know their work being that you are half way across this great country! They have been a local shop here for a number of years and have always had a great reputation. From what I understand, this is a pretty rare deal for them to take a customer prepped vehicle and shoot it, so all of the miscues will be on me!

Well, after over 12 months of making it straight / fixing rust / customizing some stuff, it went to the painter last week. I ended up making a custom root beer/copper color to be primary (shell included), and a cool vanilla off of a late model Chrysler car to go down the middle. If you look backward a few posts, you will see the basic idea of a truck I tried to come somewhat close to. I sure hope it is cool, because it sure is expensive! Pretty sanitary tape job eh?

Thanks for the encouraging words guys! I went down to see it today. It was mostly unwrapped...

67cheby - when mine gets back, I can measure them, but do not know where to find the precise measurements. With the exception of the tailgate and the front fenders, the holes were all there for me. I just used the inside access points to make my new fender holes. In the gate, I was able to get the quarter trim on, and then the gate holes were self-explanatory. It will be a couple of weeks, but let me know if I can help.

Thanks guys. I am really excited about the colors. They look kind of stock, but with a little twist of custom. I decided to bring it home after the paint shop finished the outside and do the jambs myself. I took all of the doors, tailgate, fenders and hood off and got them all cleared the past 2 weekends myself in my garage. I will be able to paint and clear the firewall and body this coming weekend. Next step is to remove the body, turn it on a rotisserie and after cleaning it up, shoot it with bedliner material, and powdercoat the chassis while the 2 pieces are separated. Then, I think we will be ready for some re-assembly!
