Leaf Spring Conversion

I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to put front leaf springs off of a 73-87 4x4 on a 67-72 4x4. I realize that they are turned different dirrections, but I need to make my front end a little higher. I put a ranch hand style bumper on my 72 K20 and I'm not sure if the 42 year old springs will last very long. The old beast dropped a little after I got the bumper mounted up.

Re: Leaf Spring Conversion

I don't know about swapping in the later springs but you can always add another leaf to your existing pack

Re: Leaf Spring Conversion

I'll have to look at my spring pack for that. How hard is it to do?

Re: Leaf Spring Conversion

Would I be correct in saying that since my 3/4 ton only has two leaf front springs someone has most likely put in half ton springs?

Re: Leaf Spring Conversion

Ok I got it now. I think I'll make a trip down to LMC in Kansas City snd get me some 3 leaf springs. Since I need new front springs I may as well go heavy duty or go home. Thanks for y'all's help
