what mods have you done to your truck?

Was just wondering what mods others have done to their trucks. I have done a halogen conversion, phantom grille on the way to be installed, smoked tail lights also on the way 4 inch lift kit installed (i have before and after vids on youtube if anyone would like links just ask ill post) new tires and rims. I will post before and after pics once I get everything installed. Just thought it would be cool to talk about mods im always looking for more

Re: what mods have you done to your truck?

Had this truck rigged up since last Oct. & just got the nerf bars on about a month ago.Way nicer getting into cab& stuff in the box!! 6" lift,35" tires& being vertically challenged ,this helped a lot...

My truck is a 4 speed standard. I love it. Its got granny gear 1st 2nd 3rd. Its sounds so nice with 40 series flow masters when you just lay into it because the gears are so big in between shifting.

Re: what mods have you done to your truck?

New fenders, inner fenders, doors, hood, tailgate, interior, bumper, wheels, tires, grill, trim, paint, glass, bed wood, sound system, bolts nuts screws, cruise, 40K mile 454, new 700R, exhaust, bagged, and I'm sure a few things have been forgotten. Planning to add AC some day.

Yep, I spent a little money, but I have no truck payment, no "new car" taxes, and a vehicle I built touching every nut and bolt.

Re: what mods have you done to your truck?

I ended up doing a 35 inch x 12.5 r17 on a 17x9 inch rim. Very surprised there is no rubbing! . I noticed my braking is weaker now though because of the larger tires im guessing. .. what are my options to improve braking?

good on the tires!, figured they would fit, & they are sharp looking. only downside to them is they are most likely showing you your brakes are getting down.
if there's a big difference between then & now, prob. needing brakes, if it's just a little bit different, brakes are good. could upgrade to drilled rotors & ceramic pads or something similar

Re: what mods have you done to your truck?

I have a 17 inch rim now... is there such a thing as a 17 inch disc brake or something bigger than stock? Since I am running bigger rims? But I can tell my brakes are definitely struggling with the change.

sounds like your needing brakes. can you see threw your rims how much pad life you have, & rotor condition. i dont think you'll ever find a rotor close to that size
your stock braking system is plenty capable of stopping 35's, if everything is ok.
i'm running 38.5's with stock braking system on my crew. i did re-do the brakes a couple yrs ago, used premium pads, rotors, drums & shoes. when we go camping we're right around 14k, never have a problem stopping

Re: what mods have you done to your truck?

I dropped mine 5/7, dodge 20" spares. I've swapped swapped differentials, went from a 4.11:1 to a 3.42:1 and got rid of the AM radio for a modern head unit. Next up exhaust, tbi, 5 or 6 speed and interior restore. All in no particular order.

Re: what mods have you done to your truck?

I have a 6/8 drop done on mine with the lower control arms moved forward an inch to get me 7.5 degrees castor with a modern day alignment spec up front. Everything is urethane but motor mounts and outside front sway bar bushings. I have one ton swaybars front and addco 1-1/8th in the back. Drivetrain is 3:73 eaton truetrac diff with upgraded 30spline axles have a th350 with stock stall currently but Hughes internals and shift kit. Destroked 400 to 377 with a thumper cam. Mild ported 202 heads breathing from a weiand single plane high rise and a old Barry grant gold claw 750. Upgraded the interior from Scottsdale to some silverado stuff. Mainly just the pillar trim and suede headliner and leather wrapped dash. Added iroc gauges and sunpro triples in the cluster with a nos clock. Have a grip royal wheel ready to go in as well and a redwood shifter knob to accent it with my lokar floor shifter. Have some hid projectors retrofitted in as well to make night driving a breeze.

Whole truck is a step in the past with a little bit of modern day tech. Hopefully I can get my truck painted and finished up someday. Maybe..
