Re: VTblazer...where are youuuuu?

it has 2" of dust and dirt the motor need a good cleaning and I don't have the controler...if you know a young kid just getting in it I would sell it Cheap...I have the Dura bat wing and the Dura plane with out alerons

I build alot of planes back in the late 80's and early 90's while I recovered from a motorcyle accedent..it was relaxing productive and tons of fun....

Looks like a lot of fun, congrats on the quality time with your son; that is becoming more difficult each passing day.

And great pics!

Re: VTblazer...where are youuuuu?

Those are very cool, always wanted to get into RC planes as well, just never have pulled the trigger.

Funny story, my Grandfather and uncles were/are all pilots. My grandfather had a Piper J-3 Cub like you have in the picture.

He used to fly it from his house to a lake house about 100 miles away that he inherited from his brother. Back in the 60's he didn't have much instrumentation so he would just follow the highways to get there. Apparently it was pretty underpowered because he said when there was a strong headwind he could look down and the cars would be moving faster than him! I always thought that was amazing. Glad to see you are having fun with your son.

Re: VTblazer...where are youuuuu?

Still alive and kickin' boys!

The divorce thing was rough and 'everything' I had for trucks/parts & storage are now gone.

The good part is...so is she! lol

The past is the past and I've moved on, I've found the right gal to be with finally. (she loves old trucks & hotrods )

Re: VTblazer...where are youuuuu?

Hey don't give up on the Trucks/Blazers. I parked my rigs in 2006 after my divorce and drove a 2004 RAV 4 for two years (no money and gas was killing me). 2008, gave the RAV to my son who lived with me for school driving and broke out the K20 for a DD again. Unfortunately he soft rolled the K20 on this date in 2009 (kinda like your avatar BURT, except a half more turn) got the old 72 Blazer out of deep barn storage, washed all the dirt dobbers out of it and blew the mice out of the exhaust system and here we go... Met my girlfriend in 2010 and she is all about old trucks and fixing 'em up. She has a nice car but, we spend the majority of our time in the Blazer - no topper - cruising around. And, not to be braggadocios, but she makes more money in a year as to what I lost in the divorce! Oh yeah, it was a lot. So, there is a happy ending to some things. But, I would like to say - both you guys have inspired a lot of my ideas with your posts. So, stay around... Thanks David

There's no doubt a light at the end of the tunnel, plans to build another shop are already in the works.
