Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Yeah I was not prepared for them to have that done when I went today. I was there on monday and nothing had been started today. I knew I would get busted about the pics. I will take it with me tomorrow.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Just a couple of quick pics. The patch panels have already been put in. Just gave them some money for materials so they have enough to do finish the cab and bed and put in primer.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Why can't I upload more than one photo at a time now. I used to be able to do 5 or 6 at a time.
I guess you just have to upload one at a time and use the same choose file button for multiple pics. There used to be multiple choose file spots. Kind of confusing at first.

I heard there doing some updates to the website, one of the guys is having a problem uploading pictures completely.
It's coming along slowly but it's looking good!! Glad there actually doing something to the truck instead of nothing!

Yeah a little. The painter is going to shoot me some samples and I will see how that goes first.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Not much going on here lately. I did find a good deal on a new intake for my 355 build. Found an Edelbrock Performer Rpm that had not been run yet. Now I just need to find a good deal on some heads. That is about all the good news. Bad news is I think I am loosing interest in this build. I think it is just due to it taking so damn long in the body shop. I am starting to look into something else. I might have to see if I can buy back my old 63 K20 that only has 19,000 original miles or restore it. I guess I will see how I feel once it gets done.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Don't loose interest... start doing more work yourself. Only one way to learn friend. From the work I've seen you perform you have the ability. The more work you do, the farther your money goes. Body work just takes patients, a nice inline sander, a DA sander, basic hammer and dolly set, a nice set of sanding blocks and so on... give it a shot you may surprise yourself. I've never taken my truck to have body work done, all self taught. I've painted my truck three separate times over the years and each time its gotten better and better. A lot of reading and Google will go a long way. Carry on!!!

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Hey guys, not too much has been going on lately. I have been trying to get a new business venture up and going and haven't bothered with the truck here lately. Today is actually my first free day I have had in a while and will be going out to the truck today. I am also thinking about converting one of my K30 C&C's over and make a RC K30 dually. So looking for a frame for it too. Thats all I need is another project. Can't help myself, it's an illness.
I should also mention that I have been trying to come up with the funds to purchase my old 60 Chevy panel truck back. Had it for twenty years and sold it. It has went downhill bad and I want it back. Not a very good pic. This is at the guys house and he has let it set outside the whole time and basicall it is just rotting away. Sad. So needless to say I am taking donations.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Well hopefully there's good results with your truck and they have work done to it!
Man that's a sharp looking truck sucks the guy you sold it to, is just letting it sit there and rot away, kind of makes me mad and want to cry a little. I hope you get it back!

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Well it has been a while since I posted something. They finally started working on it. Got all the bodywork done for the most part. There will be a few things to do to it once I get it all put together before paint. Should be spraying the colors I picked on something just to make sure I like them. I want to see the colors on something more than a piece of paper.
Hopefull they are what I have been thinking and get the firewall and interior painted so I can bring it home and start assembly. I am going to go ahead and put the interior back in and put the drivetrain back in. Going to try to get it where I can get it running so all it needs is taken back for touchup and final paint. I will still need to get all new weather stripping and odds and ends but going to wait until I need them and not buy right now. Money has been tight here lately between business slowing down for the winter and my need to buy a couple more squares here lately..

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
I don't think I will have the money to finish it anytime soon. Having it painted is going to take some time. I have some money left but I am sure it will get spent somewhere on the truck but it is not enough to have it completely painted. I am ready to have it finished but I am in no hurry. The only thing that has irritated me is that if it was going to take 8 months to get to this stage then someone should have told me that from the get go. I am fine with that but don't lead me to believe that it will be done sooner than that. Just tell me.
The interior and firewall should be painted, the cab and bed in primer and the new GM doors and fenders will stay in their E-coat. It's going to look like a heinz 57 for a while but it will get there.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Funny you posted I was just thinking about progress on it today and I couldn't find your thread glad to see a little something done on it sad to say I don't think paint shops will fully ever tell the truth too us just because they want the business, I agree though if its going to take so much time just tell me not that hard to do

I would let them paint the cab and firewall; that will give you plenty to reassemble. If you have to do the fenders and doors, let the shop seal them and paint the insides; that way you can put the guts in and not have to take it all back off.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
Stopped by the shop today just to drop in. Didn't really expect any progress to be done. They had flipped the cab on its back and blasted the underneath floorboards and interior of the cab. Which is good but they had to point something out to me which I didn't know about. From what they tell me they think the truck this cab came off of took a hit in the front which pushed the engine into the firewall.
The first pic is with the cab on its back and me taking the pic standing looking at the floor under the truck. I don't think it will affect anything other than maybe the gas pedal. Not sure about that yet until I get it back home. I may have to massage that area a little. So good news and bad news but hopefully that bad news is minor.

Re: Project Snowball- Slow build
you should be able to fix that, doesn't look to major but again I can't see it in person either.
