1966 seat foam

Does anyone make seat foam for a 1966 seat cushion that is already cut to shape?

We made our own, using 2 different types of foam, 1 2" very dense, 1 2" softer. Glued it down to the seat base then used a 90 degree grinder and contoured it. Made a heck of a mess but we got it the way we wanted it. Kieth

ps we could not find a prefinished foam seat cushion.

start of seat rebuild: use this link and then click on the thumbnails to see the process of rebuilding the seat.

2nd set of photos, somehow we missed taking pictures of the foam and how we did it, but man it was messy, there were foam scraps everywhere.

Re: 1966 seat foam

I would think the 67-68 seat foam which is reproduced would be a good candidate. I haven't measured the two seats, but from eye they look pretty close.

Re: 1966 seat foam

If going with custom foam, keith's method can be a little less messy if you use an electric carving knife.

Yes, I have used my electric carving knife on foam before and it works really well.
