Need different water pump pulley

I'm looking for a different water pump pulley. If you didn't see my other post about misalignment of water pump pulley, the short story is I changed the water pump and, pulley is out of line with the alternator and crank pulleys. Several folks suggested pulling the water pump off and pressing the flange on farther which of course will work but, suggestion of trying to find a different pulley was also made. That's what this thread is about. I included a pic but, alot of glare present. With the pulley on a flat surface, it measures ~ 2 3/4" to the top. I need a pulley that measures 2 15/16" to the top. Pulley is 7 1/8" dia. If I can't find a pulley that will work, I'll pull it off and take it to O'Reilly and see if another one will work...the guy already said he showed 5 different part numbers possible. Anyway, thanks in advance if anyone has one or, knows if such a pulley is available. Last resort will be taking it apart and pressing the flange but, if that's what it takes to get my truck going, that's what I'll do.

Thanks again,
Billy

If all was in order until you changed the pump, then I'd try a new parts store before anything. I run a short pump and changed it twice. Once with an aluminum (jeggs) then back to cast iron (o'reily's). Sounds like something is amiss with the parts.

Definitely an issue with the pump, my pulley... same one clears the pump housing about an 1/8 of an inch, but alignment is good, mine was a TRW parts pump, there area a lot of overseas junk coming in for replacement parts especially in the discount stores. Buy napa, TRW, or from Rock Valley...

I agree. It pretty much HAS to be the wrong pump. Guy at O'Reilly said there were 5 diff part numbers. Part of the problem is that it sat apart for several weeks before I put it back together( I know I'm a dummy lol). Next time I change a part, I'll keep the old one and make sure they match up. I'm just going to go ahead and pull it off there and go back to parts store

Agree...going to go ahead and pull it off and take it back...probably won't get any money back because it was installed ( wouldn't blame them, was my fault to not check it out before installing it)...at least I know what I need now!
