A 383 stroker, with a good cam, nice heads, springs, rockers will look just like a 327 if you put the stock tin/paint colour/decals/air cleaner on it.

just rebuild your org. 327--one of the best sb chevy's ever. unless you want a hot rod eng (more power) replace the pg with a T-350 or a 2004r.

Welcome to the forum

Just do a basic rebuild with some flat top pistons and a moderate cam with lift in the mid to upper .4xx and .050 duration in the 224 to 230 range. If the heads you have have the 1.74 intakes, I would look for a set of early heads with the 1.94 intake and 1.5 exhaust valves. A basic 4 bbl aluminum intake, 600 cfm carb (I prefer Holleys) a good HEI ignition, and headers and full dual exhaust. I would definitely swap the Powerglide for a TH350 or a 700R4.

Yup^^^ Better flow always helps. Don't forget hardened valve seats.

You also might check out TX Firefighter's build thread. He built a nice 327 for his '63. There is a video in there too so you can hear how it sounds.
