Re: cold air intake setup`
This is my set up I used on my 72 Cheyenne. It isn't 73-87 but it has a very similar engine compartment. I used air raid kit from a 2008 gm truck with the Non-oil filter.
Hope it helps Posted via Mobile Device

Sorry but that's not a true cold air setup. I don't want to make u mad but sucking in hot air from under the hood isn't what I would call cold air setup. Here is my setup in my 1971 Chevy truck setup. 1990 Caddy air box modified by me. I first sealed the normal intake opening up which in the first picture has the sheet metal screw showing. I used gasket sealer also and then used a 4" hole saw to drill a nice opening in the bottom of the box. I then took a PVC coupling from lowes and cut the threads off but left enough pipe to attach the 90 elbow then took another coupling and cut the threads off of it. Took the 4" hole saw to the radiator support where the old V regulator was mounted and put the coupling through the hole to the other end of the 4" ninety. True cold air straight in from the grille area. U can see the coupling in the support in this one. U can see the 4" hole beside the drivers side head light. All installed with K&N filter

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. Last edited by Andy4639; 09-12-2013 at 07:37 PM. |

Re: cold air intake setup`
I used parts form here, modified them for my needs, it would be MUCH better for your motor to actually get cold air ( fresh air) from outside your engine bay. good luck!
