Brake System Identification

I'm planning on going through the brake system on my 85 C10 LWB. After looking into parts I realize J55-Heavy Duty Brakes on the service parts ID tag in the glove box doesn't match the JB5/JD5 etc listed for replacement parts. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Re: Brake System Identification

JD5 = hydraulic boost
JB5 = vacuum boost

You are very likely JB5 (usually the confusion is between JB3 and JB5; JB3 being the "super" light duty, with 1" rotors).

Here are the brake system release charts, if you would like to investigate further.

Thanks Keith... you gave me this once before, and it sure helped me convert from the smaller front disc to the larger...

Thanks again
