He has grown to hate his truck (not me!)

A nice looking truck with a sort of sad write-up. The owner has come to hate his C10 SWB. I hope it finds a good home

I don't know but that seems pretty cheap to me for what it is and what he has in it.

Wow, that would be a heck of a truck, even with the miss. If I was looking for a nice driver, that would one I would definitely look at.

Truck looks nice in pics. I'd hate to try and build a similar one for $8K--IMO, kinda like a house: I think a person can get more house for his $ if he buys an existing one than building a new one. Just has to wait 'til he finds it. It sounds to me that this truck is a "finder". And, I'm impressed with the unusual color(s) too.

That's not a bad price for that truck. It's very photogenic anyways. I know how he feels... I've had those days where it seems like I hate my truck. Never enough to post on CL though.

Re: He has grown to hate his truck (not me!)

The misfire could be as simple as a spark plug. Course I don't know how many miles he has on it. It could have a bad valve spring, or worn or worped valve. Best thing he could do is take a compression test. But if it runs and drives good, heck with it! Mine pops and misfires like the dickens but it pulls long and hard! I can understand that it would be discouraging to spend alot of money and have a problem like that, but like my dad always said "Never buy a 305 chevy v8". Not enough power for him I guess... It is a nice truck though.

I love the look of the truck. Wish I had the extra coin. I am enjoying my slow build of my 65 but do often wish I had one I could drive already.

Re: He has grown to hate his truck (not me!)

Sorry. That smacks of a bullsh*t story caus he either bought a lemon and is mad or he broke a good truck fiddlin with it or it has a known major problem and this is the Minor Issue cover story.

The work appears excellent and at $8K the sale on a $13K investment is highly suspicious or at least stupid...even a spanky new motor is under $3K for a simple engine swap fix and the $16K total would still be half a new truck price.

Either way, if it was pro built go to a/the pro to evaluate and fix a miss....if it was home built, and the quality appears excellent, he should have the skills to evaluate and fix a miss.

I'm not buyin it, the story that is....

Appears to be well worth the coin.

Pics still show 6 lug on the front though?

Re: He has grown to hate his truck (not me!)

Yer right, at $8k if the small details match the macro photos, its prolly a deal even if the engine is toasted. But, I still don't buy the story! No one gives a $5K discount cause they are frustrated, but ya might if a $BIG-K prolem is hidin under the paint or if yer desparate for cash for the mortgage or somethin else important.....
