High idle

I have a 78 c15 4.1. My question is when it's cold I start my truck the rpms are like 2000 then after warm its goes down to 750. Is that normal for the high idle to be that much at start ?

Re: High idle

It sure will if you got the high idle set too high. Here's a vid to show both the normal and the high idle screws. Turn your high idle down. You only need about 1200 rpm when it's warming up.
