Crew Cab on a rclb frame

My C20 is a 74, and in the peoples republic of california I no longer have to smog it. Which is a very nice option to have.

I have seen a few builds on line where people have put crew cabs on rclb frames, or modified their cab to be an extended or crew cab. I like this option because I would like a crew, but I only have to mod up mounts. Plus keeps my truck shorter for easy driving around town, and down dirt roads.

So does anyone know what they do for registration? Can I say I modded a cab to be a crew because they are rare, and get away with it? Or what have you done if you done it?

Is it easy to get away with because the age of the trucks.
