Question Motor cover

Where can I get this part?
Anybody got one they want to sell?
I think it dresses the engine up nicely.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Motor cover

I could be a dick and say that you linked him to the wrong cover.....but I won't do that.

Jim posted the other version of the 6000 cover, completely the same in purpose, only difference being the smaller 6000 lettering vs the large letters on the one he posted. There is also a 5300 version, the caddy version, and the version that I use (the Vortec MAX cover).

I can dig up the part number from the Max cover, or you can check my build as I always spam saying. I bought all 3 new from either GM parts direct or Nalley GMC, I'd have to double check. The price for all three was under $100. I chose to customize mine a bit, but all of them fit the same (but if you run DBW make sure that the top cover clears the TB. it has a more aggressive slant on the front plastics, and the non-dbw covers rub the TB)

My local chevy dealer quoted these prices to me just now over the phone. Chevy direct has the better prices + I don't have to go pick them up. Shipping is $30.52 which is $112.67 total.
Now I have to decide if I want to run them. Doing all this detail paint work will be for nothing if I run the covers and hide it all.

Re: Motor cover

l92 has a different style truck intake and the covers' don't fit the same iirc the bolt holes don't line up but can be made to work.

Re: Motor cover

Also you could go to LS1truck and start a for sale thread or just read through what they have. I would imagine someone is selling one of these.

Re: Motor cover

These covers do not fit the stock bosses on the truck manifolds. They can be made to fit with a little trimming and re-fixing the bosses to match the intake.
There are a few threads on ls1tech and performancetrucks looking to do it, and a few have.

Re: Motor cover

Was that on Ls1tech? Ls1tech and PErformancetrucks use the same login info, they are both on the same forum-network. Ls1trucks is a completely different site, a ton smaller.

I would think the answer was Silverado.

JTP,

I'm still interested if one's still available. Does anyone know how these attach? Do they clip onto the fuel rails or something? Thanks,
