Tailgate install help

Ok, I'm ready to put the bed back on my truck and put the tailgate on. Does anyone have any tricks on how to get the tailgate back in without scratching the hell out of everything?
I've taken it off an on a bunch of times but now that everything is painted I want to be really careful. The times I have put it back on haven't been easy. Just wondering if there is a trick to get it in.

Extra set of hands best way I know. Two sets if you can get them.

Yep, get an extra set of careful hands and reinstall in the down position. Tape off any painted surfaces too. Worked for me.

Re: Tailgate install help

if your bed has been taken apart (welds cut) loosen the bolts and the bed panel will move out some at the top for a little more clearance. if never been taken apart, do what was stated above.

Extra set or sets of hands. I put mine on yesterday and was thinking the whole time, I'm glad I didn't paint any of this!
