Body Mounts

I am thinking about changing my body mounts on my 71 GMC Jimmy and I have a few questions:
1. Where should I get them?
2. Should I get Polyurethane or Rubber?
3. What is the best way to actually change them, grind off all of the bolts and replace everything or lift the body off of the frame and use the old bolts?

I just changed mine about 6 months ago. There are widely varying opinions on this but this is what I did and I am pretty happy. I replaced the original body mounts so they were pretty bad.


1) I got my from summit but it really depends on answer 2
2) I did poly (energy suspension black) get the grease to go with it or they will squeak. (It's cheap and worth it)
3) Get all new hardware

I just bought a rubber set as ive read that poly rides hard, especially in the k5 since its so short.

I got the energy suspension poly ones with new hardware. Had to use a grinder to take the heads off the upper shank. Then use a air chisel to drive the rest of the old bolts out. Also a punch and a 3 lb sledge in the rear since there wasn't and room for the air chisel. I used a scissor jack between the body and frame to get enough room to replace the stock rubber ones. Do one side at a time to make it easier and not have the body shift. I took off the inner and outer fenders up front to do the core support ones easier.
