Question control standard heater with deluxe control?

I picked up a deluxe control for my truck but I have the standard heater in it right now. I figure I can make the heat control work with a valve under the hood and hook the defrost control to move the flap in the standard heater that is moved by a lever.

My question is: will the fan switch for the deluxe control work with the standard heater? Is the blower motor the same for the standard and the deluxe heater?

The heater in question is for 55-59.

Thanks

Re: control standard heater with deluxe control?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the deluxe heater switch? There is 3 terminals on the deluxe heater switch, battery and 2 outputs. I assume for high and low speed. The standard heater only has one wire going into it. I assume the wires from the heater switch go to the heater resistor before it gets to the heater motor?
