What is the torque spec for u-bolt nuts holding axle tubes to frame on 66?

I have searched hi and low in my repair manuals as well as online and I can't find the torque spec for tightening the u-bolt nuts that hold the rear axle to the frame of my 66 c10. Does anybody know what this should be or where I could find this spec?

Also, is there any particular sequence to tightening these nuts? Is there anything else this is important to know in reattaching the axle tubes to the frame?

Thanks

Does your truck have leaf springs or trailing arms?

with between 150 and 175 psi @ the compressor tank, min 3/4 piping, 3/8 hose (no longer than 50') it's 8 raps on your 1/2" rattle gun after it slows down. if you have the bad boy ingersoll it's 4 raps

Specs for the ubolts on a trailing arm setup are, 200 ft/lbs.

I actually had to buy a new torque wrench that went that high.

I may have to go to the gym and start training for this job. My torque wrench only goes to 150. Where did you find this torque spec?

Thanks

Re: What is the torque spec for u-bolt nuts holding axle tubes to frame on 66?

I finally found a reference to the amount of torque that is to be applied to the U-bolt retaining nuts that hold the trailing arms to the differential tubes. It is listed twice on page 4-6 of the 1963 shop manual. First reference is 220-320 ft. lbs. The second reference is for installing Auxiliary Springs, which is what I was doing. This second reference says to torque the nuts to 220-230 ft. lbs. This is what I am going to do. I have a feeling that the first reference has transposed the "2" and the "3" because it seems very odd to have a range of 100 ft. lbs. as a spec. I have attached the page for anyone wanting to know how the manual says to install auxiliary (helper) springs.
