Delux Heater Cage

I took apart my heater today and found that the squirrel cage was not connected. I've been reading the FAQ and have seen the rivet fix for this loose cage. I was wondering if I could just JB weld them together? The only downside would be not being able to separate them. Plus I don't have any rivets at the moment and do have JB weld. Thanks Jared
