regulator help

Got a new regulator and motor for the tailgate. Anybody have any idea on how much to preload the helper spring and how the timing marks line up.

Re: regulator help

No idea. I have a 77 that I hope to get installed next weekend though. If one of us figures it out, let's let the other know. My gate and regulator are from a later model, but it looks to be a plug and play to me.

Re: regulator help

I installed mine this past weekend and when I took it apart to clean it and put it back together, it was pretty straight forward. The holes in the "gear" pretty well had to be only one certain way in order to get the bolts in. I had to pre-load it a bit just with me holding down each of the arms and the threading in the bolts to the gear. Thinking back on it, I am not sure how it could go differently. I used a drill to wind the window up and down and it seems to work fine...
