stupid fuel gauge
hey guys ive researched trouble searching on fuel gauges but this ones got me twisted. 6 months ago I put a new sending unit in my blazer. so I could see how much gas I had well recently it started to mark 1/2 no matter what was in the tank. and every so often it would mark correctly and then go back. well the last 5 days its just stayed on 1/2 tank. i know i have at least 3/4 tank. i switched the fuel gauge and same thing. any ideas? i bought the sending unit at oreillys they aint to fun to put i either LOLthanx

Re: stupid fuel gauge
I'd suspect the sending unit again. The new floats are garbage.

Re: stupid fuel gauge
Went through that sending unit issue with the bad float on a 68 last year, replaced it twice and the new junk wouldn't work a day. It would be nice if you could spray them with something to seal them that wouldn't dissolve in your gas and foul it up.

Re: stupid fuel gauge
Not discounting new equipment being junk, but did you check your grounds. My '79 K10 used to read 1/4 no matter what. I installed a new ground from tank to frame and the gauge has been reading true ever since. With any electrical issues, gauges incl., 90% of the time a ground is the culprit. Cheap fix first.

Re: stupid fuel gauge
Thanx I'll check that out funny thing it started marking a little less than 1/4 of a tank and it was right but after a fill up back to the center it went
