TCI coil spring type front end
Anybody running 1 of these? I have this set up along with the 4 link going in my 51. Does this set up handle good? Also, I'm planning on a LS engine, with that p/s pump what press reducer do I need? I know you have to reduce pressure to the power rack but I still want a good feel of the road, so what has worked best for those that have used this set up? I got on tci's site and got the alignment specs but couldn't find nothing on this. Thanks to anyone that can give me some advice.

No experience with the TCI setup but they have been popular with street rodders for years.
As far as the power steering goes I'd probably hook it up as is and try it. It will only take a couple of blocks of driving to know if it is going to work as is or if you need to get the pressure reduction valve.

Your PS pump and rack have to match pressures, the type of motor doesn't matter.

I'm glad you brought this up. I just picked up a Fatman coil spring IFS and also have an LS engine. I'm not close to hooking up the power steering so I don't have resources on hand but I do remember other on this forum using the mustang II power rack with an LS. If I remember correctly you need the shims or pressure reducers before you even try it. If you run the higher pressure gm ps pump without the pressure reducer you will blow all the seals out of the rack and ruin it right away. Maybe try calling TCI and ask them, I'm sure they have delt with this before.

I knew you had to have the press reduced before you even start it. Or at least that's what I read somewhere. I've also heard complaints about steering being to easy, or in other words you didn't have no road feel. I thought I might find someone that has been through it and knew how much to reduce it. I also know the motor has nothing to do with it, but the ps pump does. Later model pumps are different press than early.

I have a TCI in my 55 it was pretty easy install they have a new setup that hats are different and are supposed to keep the alignment better. I used this from speedway http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Mustan...-GPM,5852.html to reduce the flow and have not had any problems with steering.
