dual shocks
my 1990 suburban has dual shocks on the front . is that standard, or a option ?

It's an option. I almost prefer the single so the front end isn't as stiff.

No, one is shorter than the other. I don't know if they are valved differently but you may want to ask.
I've been very pleased with my Bilstein 5100's.
