Question ? Bout '73 stepside.....

Ok guys I got a '73 stepside and would like to swap the front clip to either a '85-'87 front clip or a '89-'91 burban front clip......
Could somebody tell me if I could swap this out and what would be required to this and if any modifications would have to be done to make either one of them work and fit correctly........
I was told I gotta cut slots in the cab for the newer hood hinges and also gotta trim the frame horns to work also.....
Is this true or will it work with no issues?

idk if id swap a 73 front for that. you have the most desired front end by far.

Re: ? Bout '73 stepside.....

I just did this to a 78 dually. I cut the slots for the hinges and welded some flat bar to mount the hinges. I drilled a couple of holes for bolting the hinges in the flat bar. It was pretty easy to put the 86 front clip on and it was hard to see the mod because the 86 foam rubber hinge grommet hid all of the work.

Why the change from a 73 to a 85 clip? Looks or is the 73 front wasted?
