Stupid Question

I know this is a little dumb, but what model of trucks have interchangeable sheetmetal? For example, does C10 interchange any sheetmetal with a C20, but not a C30,40? Just curious. Thanks, Roy

Re: Stupid Question

The C10,20 and 30 bodies are all basically the same within the '60-'63 and '64-'66 years. The C40 and up medium duty trucks do share some body parts that are interchangable with the light duty trucks. These would be the hoods (except for the LCF), doors, cowl panel, and cowl corners. The cabs are basically the same as the light duty trucks, but they don't have a trans hump. However the hump from a light duty cab can be fitted into a medium duty cab. The medium duty cab also has an extra horizontal brace at the upper floor board to firewall area. This can be trimmed or removed for use on a light duty chassis.

Re: Stupid Question

Thanks alot. I didn't realize the cabs were basically the same up to the mid size. That's good to know when looking at parts. I had never dealt with anything but the C10, so that's why I didn't know. Thanks again. Roy
