Re: Wiper arm spline replac?
maybe i should clarify: I'm talking about the part that the arms slide on to. those are the splines that are stripped.

Re: Wiper arm spline replac?
You can try this or a similar product for blade sets.
http://www.summitracing.com/search/p...-blade-refills I am not sure what you mean by splines? If you mean the splines in the arm, I think these are cut in & can only be fixed with a replacement arm. TRICO made these also but I'm having trouble finding a web reference. Blue666 |

Re: Wiper arm spline replac?
This arm was used in many applications.
Amazon.com: Trico 73-300 Heavy Duty Adjustable... Ebay also has a wide selection of parts. http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nk...d=150134868906 |

Not looking for wiper arms, looking for a new post or a way to repair them.

Re: Wiper arm spline replac?
They are called trunnions, not real difficult to change the whole assembly as the trunnions are part of the shaft and not replaceable.

Re: Wiper arm spline replac?
You can try using some aluminum foil as a shim to take up the space from the stripped splines. Might be enough to give it the required resistance. Easy and free

Re: Wiper arm spline replac?
The first picture was found on Amazon.
This link sells Step & Box van parts but also carries some parts for our type trucks. http://store.stepvanparts.com/PIVOT-SHAFTS-STEPVAN.HTM I have not been able to find any replacement knurled knobs so you might have to replace the whole pivot. Good Luck. |

Re: Wiper arm spline replac?
I have it already out of the truck. And i am a machinist and a welder, so i do ok on repairing stuff. I was planning on just replacing the spline. I just need to find a source for the knurled pc. Newer van ones are larger in diameter. I was hoping to come up with a easy and cheap repair. Spending money on used ones with out seeing the splines is a crapshoot. And the repros are $80-90. So i need some used ones to experiment with.
