Photos of new wood bed & gas tank install

was able to get a new wood bed and gas tank installed with some help from family over the holidays, wanted to share some before/after pics.

The beginning (PO had relocated gas tank to bed, and that's 47yr old wood I believe).

Bed off

Trying to snap rusted bed bolts off

Cutting bolts off

More cutting

My job was primarily stripping and refinishing the old bed rails

Cut the rear out to accommodate the new gas tank

Test fit

Mounted tank and welded in new rear metal

Remounting all the stuff the bed attaches to

And the final results

Still need to touch up the wood a bit in sports and reapply more water sealant. Next up will be finishing the bed sides with some sort of Rhino Lining or paint. Was a fun project but hopefully one I won't have to repeat for a while haha. Need to replace the shocks but that might have to wait until summer.

Sweet looking K you have...is there a differance from the standard c-10`s and the K`s on crossmembers on the frames...?

This truck is on a '73+ K series frame, that's why it looks a little different.
