John Lee was runnin poorly....

Lotsa stallin, rough idle, deceleration popping......

Loosin oil for 6 months....both engines.......out the filler cap......

So, I found a loose nut on the carbie base.....that helped the idle some......

Blamed the new power brakes,,,,took em out of the circuit and put em back in...boosters good.

Taped off the pcv valve...bingo it runs great.....

PoodookyCrap....I had the pcv valve installed backwards on both engines......

Dumbass.

Test ride tomorrow.

Retune after.

Fellas, if you can blow thru the bottom of the pcv valve its in backwards or broke.....air only flows one way.

Betcha it don't belch oil out the fill hole anymore.

Re: John Lee was runnin poorly....

Good gosh....total retune on the new motor today. I had it set up to compensate for a vacuum leak and it ran great. Then a carbie nut got loose and even bigger leak, wouldn't run right.

And....all the oil blowin out the top of both motors....I shoulda known....noooooo....just keep wiping off the oil and go on down the road. Dopey me....

Geesh....wonderin how much better it'll run now! Test ride first though. Might not be 100% if I missed something but I'm guessin its gonna be high and tight.

Re: John Lee was runnin poorly....

Test run. Still stallin cold. Wondering idle. Missing till rpms are up.

Tweaked choke. No change.

Found small vacuum leak at dizzy tube...fixed it......imperceptible change.

Found big vacuum leak. Central runner of the intake. Prolly wasn't the dizzy port....wd40 drippin on the runner made it speed up.

Wiped it all off....sprayed each runner......front and back are sealed...center is suckin wd40 like cheep gin.

Snugged up the bolts....no change.

Off to Oreillys for a Felpro...its in stock! I hope...computer says so anyhow....we'll see.

Gasket change thread comin!

We all knew it was a vacuum leak but there are SOOOOOooooooo many places that can happen.

Gotta find ultra high temp Gasket Goo toooooooo.......Gotta do the Goo.
