truck manifold to car manifold swap

What all is needed to swap a truck manifold over to the lower profile car manifold.
I haven't got an engine yet but I'm wanting as much hood clearence as possible and the car manifold looks a lot shorter compared to the truck style. Thanks

Should just need injectors form car and throttle body. Get the complete intake if possible. Oh yea you will need new injector wiring plugs if not mistaken. Some one else more verse will come along shortly and clarify all this.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I think you will also need to change your brackets and water pump, I could be wrong as I haven't tried it myself. You will lose torque if you do it.

Re: truck manifold to car manifold swap

You need the car accessories too. The car throttle body will interfere with the truck accessories. There is still plenty of hood clearance with the truck manifold in these old trucks. I really wouldn't bother. All of the car stuff is more expensive and not really worth the extra price considering the power guys are managing with truck stuff.

Re: truck manifold to car manifold swap

I did it on mine; used an ls1 waterpump with spacers, relocated idler pulley and cut off the one on the truck Acc bracket. It's fairly easy to do. Swap injector plugs as well unless you don't have a harness yet.

Whats your fear of hood clearance? In most of these trucks, the engine sits low enough in the cradle that hood clearance isn't a problem.

On my 66, I could fit a hi-ram intake without hitting the hood dam near.

You'll also need to make some tune adjustments.
