hi everyone in new to the forms im from stigler, oklahoma my name is tim I have been looking for a 1957-72 truck an I have found a 62 dont really care much for the cab but it will do the guy is asking 1000 but I have some trading material. What are yal's thoughts on what it is worth

Well could be a nice truck lots of rust depending on what you want to spend on it and I would try and get it cheaper needs lot from the pictures. What's the roof like on the cab look under on the front window up top

Im not sure yet he sead its all good except the floor pans its 2 hours from me an I haven't drove down to check it out. I will be trading a pistol an a little cash for it.. my plans are a ls swap little cam real low cruzer.

It looks like a '63 to me......looking at the location of the front cab mounts and the fender emblem. A '63 will have a ladder style frame and coil spring front suspension. In my area that would be a $3-500.00 truck

I just bought a 65 in almost the same shape with clean paperwork for $350. Granted...mine had a flat wood rack, so the box that comes with yours is worth something more, but I would shoot for under $500 if possible. Mine also came with a spare door, hood, and two 8' box sides for me to sell/trade for parts. Looks like your gonna have about 900-1000 in just materials to repair that rust, thats what mine priced out at from Top Banana.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't pay more that a few hundred. Is this your first old truck? That one looks to be pretty rough. Maybe a parts truck?

For what it would cost to fix just the cab on the one you are looking at you could buy the Texas truck. Finding a fleet side bed is not that hard. Where I am in the rust belt that 63 is a 500 truck max. The red truck is a better choice for what you plan to do.

Expand your search and keep looking. I've seen beeter looking trucks in our local Pic n'Pull. I dont know much about rust belt states but seems to me it would be better to spend a bit more time and money up front, even if it meant traveling longer distances. It's easier to tow a trailer and sleep in a motel than it is to fix a lot of rust. Cheaper too most likely.

To much cancer in the truck for starters....I wouldn't give him more then $500. It is to ruff and beat up to be worth 1K. Someone posted a craigslist add that has a C-20....I think it is a '62..anyhow it has a 350...$1850...it would be a much better choice. Especially looking from a value stand point.

Leave that truck alone. You will find a lot more wrong with it once you start to disassemble. Just my 2 cents

I agree, this truck is a $200-$300 parts truck. There isn't much left and to repair it would be way more time and materials than it's worth. You can find much better trucks out there for $1000-$1500 if you have patients.

x2 and fast. be good for parts though. Cab corners and front fender mounts are toast too. Im guessing you'd have to replace most of the lower cab sheet metal and floor and that's only the start. There is a lot of sheet metal that needs replaced and the cost and time will cost you more in the long run. You can find a solid project truck for $1000-$1500, just be patient and keep the search up.

Welcome to the board, that one looks a little rough for that much money, keep an eye on craigslist in Texarkana, shrevport, Tulsa, okc, and you can find better trucks for that price. I paid $2300 for my 66 gmc, it was a runner and could be driven, very little rust.........but even on a truck with a little rust there were surprises. I bought a 65 parts truck that does not look as bad as the 63 your posted about, I paid $200.00 for it. Good luck, come up to Tulsa after you get your truck. Kieth

Ya its sometime hard to find one you want and like I had to travel 2 hours and hours to get it out of the dirt and get it load just keep looking and you'll find one

I wouldent mine a 2 or so hour drive. I work 4 hours from home an home on the weekends an I get sick of driving.
