Title Received Today
I bought a truck in Georgia. Was told no title on a 64 just bill of sale. Had bill of sale. Texas said a 64 had to have a George title. I called Georgia, and they said it may have a registration only. I called the man I bought it from. He sent me a copy of the registration that he went and got for me. Texas said they needed the original registration. I called the man I bought it from, and he sent me the original registration. After 7 weeds I got the Texas title. Good things come to those who wait, and wait, and wait. Here is the truck.

Re: Title Received Today
I was worried about the title. I feel a lot better now. The man I bought it from said the previous owner had a frame off 11 years ago. Some of the body rubber mounts look new, and two of them are in bad shape. Has a 327, and a 350 trans. Both were rebuilt. That may be true, but not sure. Has an under dash AC unit. It will probably go out. That is my luck. I don't like the seats, or the door panels. To much red. I will do the seat in black vinyl, and black cloth. I will paint the door panels black. I drove it 820 miles home. The alternator bolt broke. Then the alt belt broke. When I got it home the PS pump started to leak. Then the carb. was flooding out. Gas was coming out of the top of it. I will put an AM-FM-CD player in it, speakers in the doors. Here is a few more pics.

Re: Title Received Today
You're right that's a lot of red but it looks good. I'm not so sure I would change to black

Re: Title Received Today
Greg thats a sweet truck you picked up.....my opinion on the red interior is just a little to much red....but sure is sweet otherwise.

Re: Title Received Today
I usually go through VT if I get a vehicle without a title. They dont seem to care about anything but the check they get. As long as the VIN is clear of leins and the car isn't stolen they will send a registration. The local DMV used to look at me funny when I handed them a VT registration with my ID address on it. Now they just put the paperwork through.

Re: Title Received Today
Other than the rear bumper I love the truck!! Nice!! Black carpet would knock the red down in the interior.

Re: Title Received Today
Very nice truck! I will mimic the other guys, too much red. I have found that if you title it/register it in the state you buy it from, the Texas doesnt care. If you dont, they act like and treat you like you are the most hardened criminal and that Bonnie and Clyde were saints! I sure hope your going to take your truck to some meet and greats this year, i would love to see her up close!
Good luck!

Re: Title Received Today
With a v8 and auto, prolly ought to make brake safety your first job. Ditch the single resevour booster for a dual and split the front system from the rear. Shame to see ya loose brakes and not even have that strong manual trans dump clutch down shift!

Re: Title Received Today
That is first on my list. I agree safety first. I think the booster is OK. Just need a duel master.

Re: Title Received Today
Long as its runnin function check on the booster is simple pedal work. Grab a dual master and get the pin length right and yer on yer way. Hard part is plumbin the new lines then getting fluid in and air out!

Re: Title Received Today
Yea. It is hard to bend the lines. They can kink, or I get the length to long , or to short. It is hard to get a master that will last more then 90 days too.

Re: Title Received Today
I put on the al cardone $15 master from oreillies, 67 C10 /impala dual resevour drum drum. 21K miles, 2 trucks and now it has a booster behind it too. Perfect, no problems.
I also used all pre made lengths of brake line including a 3/16 adapter line when I replumbed both from single to dual resevour. Not as pretty as factory but works just fine and the adapter line helps you drop to the smaller size at the rear,....so's ya can run 1/4 all the way back and adapt to the rear rubber hose which is threaded for 3/16 lines. Theres a couple good how to's in the FAQ. |

Re: Title Received Today
I did the same thing that Sharps is talking about, If you search an auto parts site you can find tons of info on the Poly Armour brake lines they sell. Lots of different lengths, already flared with fittings, and cheap! Good luck!
